If you copy a spell that's half of a split card, the copy copies that same half. For example, if you copy Assault, the copy is also Assault, not Battery.

A noncreature permanent that becomes a creature can attack, and its tap abilities can be activated, only if its controller has continuously controlled that permanent since the beginning of their most recent turn. It doesn't matter how long the permanent has been a creature. Notably, if you turn a land into a creature on the turn it entered the battlefield, you won't be able to tap it for mana.

Split cards have two card faces on a single card. The characteristics of the half you didn't cast are ignored while the spell is on the stack.
