Lander tokens are a kind of predefined token. Each one is a colorless artifact with the artifact subtype Lander and the ability “ 2 generic mana , tap , Sacrifice this token: Search your library for a basic land card, put it onto the battlefield tapped, then shuffle.”

Some spells and abilities that create Lander tokens require targets. If each target chosen is an illegal target as that spell or ability tries to resolve, it won’t resolve. The Lander token won’t be created.
